Students learning how to write a Master's Thesis will first learn that a central thesis question must be presented and subsequently answered. A Master's Thesis will be the most prominent piece of your graduate work up to this point, and a pertinent thesis question that forms the spine of this work elevates it from the prosaic to the significant.
In France, the academic dissertation or thesis is called a thèse and it is reserved for the final work of doctoral candidates. The minimum page length is generally (and not formally) 100 pages (or about 400,000 characters), but is usually several times longer (except for technical theses and for "exact sciences" such as physics and maths).
"Words truly cannot express my appreciation for all you have done. Your support, guidance and expertise were just exceptional throughout my entire doctoral venture. You are true professionals."
The body of the thesis must be double spaced. Footnotes, bibliographical entries, long quoted passages, and items in lists and tables may be single spaced.
